Abstract
This study was undertaken to establish the antero-posterior and vertical position of the craniofacial structures in Class ¥²malocclusion. For the purpose of the study, 125 normal samples(61 male, 64 female) and 168 Class¥²samples(70 male, 98
female)
were selected and the cephalometric radiographs were taken and analyzed by method of mesh diagram.
@ES The following results were obtained:
@EN 1. The antero-posterior position of maxilla and mandible showed the highest prevalence in the group of posterior position of the maxilla(57.74%), and in the group of anterior postion of the mandible(79.17%).
2. The combination of maxillary and mandibular antero-posterior position showed the highest prevalence in the group of maxillary posterior position and mandibular anterior position(38.69%) and maxillary position and mandibular anterior
position(26.78%), maxillary and mandibular anterior position(13.69%), maxillary and mandibular posterior position(10. 11%) in sequence.
3. The vertical position of maxilla and mandible showed the highest prevalence in the group of superior position of the maxilla (43.45%), and in the group of inferior position of the mandible(45.83%).
4. The combination of maxillary and mandibular vertical position showed the highest prevalence in the group of maxillary and mandibular superior position(35.11%) and mandibular anterior position(38.69%) and maxillary and mandibular inferior
position(21.42%), maxillary normal position and mandibular inferior position(18.45%), maxillary and mandibular normal position(11.30%) in sequence.
5. The inclination of maxillary and mandibular anterior teeth showed the showed the highest prevalence in the group of labial inclination of the maxillary anterior teeth(46.71%), and in the group of lingual inclination of the mandibular anterior
teeth(67.85%)
6. The antero-posterior and vertical structural combination of maxilla and mandible showed the highest prevalence in the group of maxillary posterior position, mandibular anterior position and maxillary superior and mandibular superior
position(14.29%)
